PASS Locator functions in asset tracking

The first function is to audit assets and record the location and value of all your company property. It covers any type of item from photocopiers to production machinery and each item type has its own configurable set of details.

The second function is scheduling and recording the maintenance of those items.

The third function covers things that are not physical like health and safety checks, building repairs and maintenance and compliance with legal requirements.

The system produces schedules for both audit and maintenance and uses PDAs to record the checks. It also uses PDAs for the issue and return of items on loan.

The same software licence enables you to use more than one database and users can switch between the relevant items grouped by category. For example you might have one database just for IT equipment and another for office furniture. Alternatively you can put everything on the same database and group them by item type. the choice depends on the number of items that need recording and whether it is more convenient for the different departments to have their own database or share a common one.

Other uses of PASS Locator

Another of Locators functions is for any Issue or Lend situation. For example files, documents, tools, samples where you need to record who took the items and run reports on their due back dates. Hospitals use it for patients records, construction companies for issue and return of tools, sales departments to Lend sample kit to distributors or resellers.

Same licence, multiple uses

The same Locator licence covers all of the above functions and can link to different databases for each application. So you could do your asset tracking on one database, engineering maintenance with another database and tool issue on a third. The software switches seamlessly between the applications each of which has their own login and assignable user rights.
